Keeping with the attempt to try to visit local (non-chain) restaurants, yesterday we went to Napolis in downtown Amarillo.

It was nice it was the middle of the day (late lunch or early dinner for retirees….LOL), so parking was pretty easy for being downtown. They bring out a basket of bread to the table right away that was just the right temperature of warmth! I said to David I wonder what they call this….thinking it may have a fancy Italian name to it.

When Jen, the waitress came back over I asked what they call these – she said, I don’t know….twisted garlic bread? 🙂 Not as fancy as I expected. She could have said “Pane All’aglio Contorto” and I would have never known it was as simple as that.
The menu was great and we both decided to try something different rather than the typical lasagna or chicken marsala. The menu had something called Vicky’s Dish, which of course I had to try and David had a tilapia noodle dish that was good too!
Had a great glass of wine – Pacific Bay White Zinfandel (cherry and strawberry flavored) and of course had to try the tiramisu for dessert, which was great!
If you are ever in the Amarillo, TX area, this is a definite place to put on your list of restaurants!
