Well I hardly ever write in the evening….I think I am more creative in the mornings…LOL…wow how I brag about myself being creative! 🙂 But tonight is David’s Book Club night so it is perfect for me to blog otherwise I could be watching some of my riveting TV shows like 90 Day Fiance, Live PD, Survivor or This Is Us. But since I am caught up with Survivor and This Is Us, blogging seemed like a good alternative. Anyone watching Survivor?? It will be crazy this year with all past winners competing for the prize money of 2 million dollars!
So Book Club….I know everyone wants to know what amazing discussions are involved in this Book Club. Well, let me say it is like the Three Neutrinos on steroids!! David is here in AZ, his sister Kathy is in WA both via Skype and the other Two Neutrinos and a room full of other like-minded scientific brainiacks are in a room in MN all connected via Skype! This is David’s setup in the office!!

They will always take new members so let me know if you are inclined to discuss nerdy stuff on a monthly basis!! 🙂
Mysterious Weekend – Mystery 1
I have my alarm set for 6:20 am each day! I always like to get up when it is still quiet and the sun has not come up yet so I can read and watch the sun rise. Years before we retired, my brother-in-law, Denny (well, to explain…he is not officially a brother-in-law because he is my sister’s “significant other”, “partner”….and they have been for over 40 years, I think….so to me he is my BIL, rather than trying to explain this all again…LOL) so Denny said, you should get in a routine when you retire….so I guess my 6:20 am alarm is the start of my routine, as is my reading….but then it goes off the rail from there as far as routines go….more what I am in the mood to do! Anyways, I always get a cup of coffee to have with my book reading, but that morning, for some very strange reason the coffee tasted awful!! It was almost like when I went through chemo and coffee had an awful taste. So I only drank half a cup and for me that is CRAZY!! Our plan for the day was to go up to Jerome to scope out some of the shops to see which ones we may want to bring Jackie and Jenny to when they get here. So first we went to breakfast at Charlottes (a little place in Clarkdale) (David said they should provide internet there and they could call it Charlotte’s Web 🙂 ). Breakfast was pretty good, but again the coffee tasted strange and I only drank half a cup. So it wasn’t my coffee at home. We got in the truck to go up to Jerome and I said I just wanted to go home because I did not feel right…it was a feeling that my mom always described as “urpy”….just not right!! So we went home and I slept off and on, drank 7-up and ate crackers. The mystery here is that I never did figure out what was going on!! Maybe since we had the flu shot this was my version of the flu??!! Hopefully it does not come back!!
Mystery 2
Sunday morning I got up to read at my usual time and about 7:20 am I heard a loud bang enough that it actually shook the wall that shares the garage. All I could think of was that some larger animal had gotten into our garbage and knocked it over — like a javelina or a coyote!! Believe me, I was NOT going to open the garage door to investigate. Then I started seeing posts on social media that other people heard the same loud bang and it was heard quite a few miles away. Quickly the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department (YCSO) got involved in trying to solve this mystery. They had received a number of calls at this point!! They checked a number of things: earthquakes, sonic boom from a military jet or any other kind of aircraft and officers were sent all over to try to find any evidence of what might have occurred!! It was actually pretty cool watching this all play out on social media.
Finally yesterday they believe they have solved the mystery! The belief is that a meteorite entered the atmosphere at about 20-22,000 miles per hour! There were some sightings of a small speck in the sky and then the sonic boom sound. It actually registered 3.1 on the Richter scale!! They believe it was roughly the size of a microwave!! Now people are wandering the dessert in the Verde Valley and Prescott trying to find some pieces of this meteorite!! It’s like a modern day gold rush!! 🙂 That was enough mysteries for the weekend!!
Deck
The deck is progressing — they have put on 2 coats of paint after the primer and am hoping it will all be done by tomorrow or Thursday. As you can see all the patio furniture is now in the dining room!

We are also getting ready for Jackie, Jermar and Jaxen to visit!!! YEA!!! We cannot wait!! They will arrive on Monday and stay for 5 days. I have gone to the thrift store that we like to buy him some toys since it would be hard to bring many on the plane. I think I found some good buys and washed them this morning so they are all ready for him to dig in!
Considering they were not very much at all and one set I got on the 50% off day, they are great toys at even a greater price!!
Crazy Car
Went grocery shopping on Monday and this was parked in the parking lot! Called an Art Car!! Maybe Emily would like this once she gets her license!! LOL
Well hope everyone is doing well this evening! Now will probably go and watch Episode 2 of McMillions! 🙂
