Excuses….

It always seems once we get back to MN, I tend to ignore this blog, and I always come up with some great excuses why I have not updated it….included taking an Online class in WordPress (which I use for this…) to sharpen my skills.  Well, I have not started that class yet, so really that excuse is truly not valid.  Seems like reading or needlework take priorities also instead of writing.  And I am not sure what we do in MN is as new or exciting as the adventures we take in AZ.  So those are some of my very weak excuses, but today it is time to brush those aside and do some updating.

First, a very Happy Birthday to my older daughter, Jenny.  It has become a habit that I don’t call her until her birth time which is 2:37 pm….but after a couple of times of her thinking I forgot her birthday, I wish her an Early Happy Birthday in the morning and then at 2:37 pm send her the real Happy Birthday.  She has been enjoying the week up at their campsite near Nisswau, but that also included a number of hairy intense thunderstorms.  Now, being a trained meteorologist, and enjoys storm chasing, the condition was perfect to enjoy that type of atmosphere this week….but being in a camper may not be the safest place so maybe the full enjoyment was not there.

Happy Birthday Jenny!!  (With her 2 girls….who both seem to be taller than Jenny!!)  🙂

These last few weeks have been busy.  Jaxen turned 2 years old on June 27th so we had a great celebration at Jackie and Jermar’s house.  Jackie took extra efforts in trying to social distance, including providing masks and hand sanitizer if people wanted and having the food available in individual servings.  It was a lot of fun and I think Jaxen was a little overwhelmed with all of it!

Even his daycare had a little celebration for him singing the Feliz Cumpleanos song to him!! He goes to a Spanish immersion daycare!

Jackie and Jermar also made this announcement to those at Jaxen’s party…

YES!!!!  Jackie and Jermar are expecting a baby due on February 14, 2021.  Jaxen is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!

Because Jackie is again considered a “geriatric pregnancy” they will watch her closely.  But so far so good!!  Heart beat is strong and blood flow good!!  It will be a great Valentine’s Day for their family!!

We have been watching Jaxen a couple of times so Jackie and Jermar can enjoy “date night” or just a chance to get out and run errands on their own.  Last week David and Jaxen went and watched the tree trimmers down the street and I caught this while they were walking!

All was good until it was time to head back to the house….Jaxen was not happy and went running away from Bumpa back towards to workers!!!  Bumpa told him STOP!!! and of course that little boy does not like to be told “no”, “stop”, etc. so it was not a good result as Jaxen melted down right on Florida Ave in St. Louis Park!  LOL   Two year olds can be so much fun!!

So we got Jaxen’s birthday celebrated, Jenny has been celebrating this weekend and mine is coming up….but will not really be a day of celebration….LOL…I have a scheduled colonoscopy at 9:30 am that day.  At least the afternoon will be relaxing!!  The surgeon that did my right hemicolectomy wanted to do the procedure himself and this was the only day available in July!!  I just want to get it over with so I told his nurse that was more than fine that it was my birthday….let’s just get done with it.  I was supposed to do it last year, but time ran out, and schedules did not work before we had to head back to AZ.  Happy Birthday to me!!!  🙂

Hopefully the rest of July will be uneventful….just enjoying time with the kids and grandkids.  Seems a little risky to Happy Hour or breakfast with friends at this time, but hopefully that will be better before we go back to AZ.

Stay healthy!

P.S. No Jaxen pictures…I think I filled the blog already with those!!  But I took this picture (pulling over safely…) on my way home from Jackie and Jermar’s Thursday night — it was just a crazy cloud!!
