We are back on the road, heading towards Arizona. We didn’t get too far today — just to Lake Shetek State Park, not to far from the border. We had not left Carefree until noon and then I stopped at Target to get my new glasses fitted. Then we had a quick lunch in the truck so not really on the road until almost 1:30!! This is a pretty nice campground and lake looked very nice. We are in Sunrise Campground so am anxious to see if the name is appropriate and we see a great sunrise.

It was a sad week as we had to say goodbye to all of the grandkids. We actually visited Jaxen twice this past week….LOL…and he was just so much fun to hang out with. Sure now that he is getting used to us and is excited to see us, we will leave for a few months. He also gets shy when we call him on the phone, so hopefully that will change now!

On Sunday, we drove to Alexandria to meet Caley and Darcee for lunch so we could say goodbye to them. It was so great to see them and we actually sat outside on the restaurant patio!! First time eating in a restaurant since probably February.

Monday Emily, Erin and Jenny stopped over for a couple hour visit. We were so busy visiting, talking about school, etc. that I never took any pictures when they were there, but do have some first day of school ones. It was fun talking to Erin, who has decided to do the hybrid option at school. That means she does online learning Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then goes in to school on Thursday and Friday. She is a freshman (freshperson?) in high school. She said there is only about 14 people in her classes, and they do still switch rooms for the different classes. They cannot use their lockers, just need to carry all of their books in their backpacks!! Lunch is different as they are either in the gyms or lunch room and either in extra desks or long tables with big X’s where they cannot sit — so only about 3 to a table that could normally fit 6-8. They do provide “hot” lunch if someone wants that but seems to be all prepackaged type of meals…probably like airline food? It will definitely be a year that they both remember. Emily has chosen to do full online learning this trimester and will decide later what she wants to do for the next trimester.

(Emily is the taller one!! 🙂 )
Another case of Roni Rona was announced at Carefree. This is a husband and wife and both seem to be experiencing mild cases. She is president of our Board and has been very cautious so I think she was very surprised that they were both positive. Guess Roni Rona makes it own decisions on whom to attack!
Stay safe and healthy!
