Not an original title, but the best I could come up with….so what in the heck has been going on for so many days. We are starting to pack up to head to Minnesota for 2-1/2 months and I had a number of projects that I was finishing up: Diamond Painting Christmas Cards, Jaxen’s Christmas stocking, Scarves for Emily and Erin and a little baby blanket for baby boy Larkins. You would think that once retired you magically have all the time in the world for everything!! LOL I think that was my thought about anyone retired before I took that fun step. But if I were still working, all of the hobbies I enjoy (crocheting, crafts and keyboard) would gather dust as there never seemed to be time for much of anything beyond work. Definitely retirement is fun! …most days….LOL
Watchful Waiting
Now I want to vent about one of my least liked phrases — “watchful waiting”. I would think most people have experienced this either for themselves or someone they know. I think I will forever be “watchful waiting” when it comes to my lymphoma, or at least my oncologist has said I will never get away from seeing her every year. When Jenny had surgery to remove the lymphoma and they could not get it all, she was put in to the “watchful waiting” time zone. Now Jackie is experiencing the same with this baby. (You can tell it is a boy by the way it is behaving!!!) LOL This week’s ultrasound (she is now on weekly ultrasounds), brought another “we are seeing something we are concerned about” and they will wait week by week to see what the ultrasound shows. Again the horrid “watchful waiting” time zone!! I guess we should be thankful that they know they need to “watch”, but anyone in that time zone does not appreciate the “waiting” part! Seems like most of the boys born in this family are trouble makers before they were even born: Jason had the cord wrapped around his neck twice, so they had to do an emergency c-section; Jaxen ended up being an emergency c-section followed by Jackie getting an infection; and this new boy is being troublesome even before he has come into this world. Jermar says he is just in there snickering about all the fuss, worry and craziness his parents and their medical team are going through!
Worry
As Jackie has been going through these “watchful waiting” time zones, her level of worry increases, as does mine, and as Jenny said, so does her. I always said if you want someone to worry about something for you just let me know and I will do it! So is worry an inherited trait? I need to ask my sister or niece if our mom was a worrier!! You wonder if it is passed on — after all, I guess Jenny and Jackie certainly came by it from me, so you wonder.
Well not much more to vent about today….LOL…will wait a couple of days before I pack up my lap top to see if any creative blog ideas come to mind. Since we are driving the Tesla to Minnesota there may be some on the road tales that will be fun to share.
In the meantime, stay healthy and stay safe!
TIFN

Of course we need a couple of these….LOL
