After touring Southfork in Dallas, we headed to Waco where we rented an AirBNB so we could stay for a couple of days. I wanted to see Magnolia and also Harp Design. The house we rented was fantastic and decorated so nicely. They certainly have their guests in mind with the little additional things like a large selection of K-cups, a step stool for us short people to reach in to the bottom of the wash machine and it was all very clean and comfortable.

We planned our first full day to head in to Waco. We first went to Magnolia and of course had to stop at their bakery!

Because of COVID, there were a limited number of people allowed into the bakery at a time. They queued everyone outside the door and there was a door person to let you know when you could go in. We got there early so the line was only a few people long, although when we walked by there on our way out, the line stretched around the building and down the block.
Our next stop was the Magnolia shop. Loved looking at all the things for sale, although I only bought a set of measuring cups and measuring spoons not to really use, but to put on display in the dining room hutch. But there were certainly other things that looked very buyable!! 🙂

The grounds of the Silos was really nice — it was so great to see green grass. As David carried my purchases…LOL…we decided to sit at a picnic table and have lunch from one of the food trucks that are parked around the grassy area. There is a restaurant, but it was still closed because of COVID so the food trucks were a nice option.

We also made a stop at the original Magnolia store, which now sells close out and seasonal items. It was a very small shop on main street, but I did find some fantastic candles that both have amazing scents.
Our next stop was Harp Design. If you are a fan of Fixer Upper, you know that Harp Design is where Jo goes when she wants any type of custom made wood piece, often a large piece like a dining room table. Clint, the owner, is often seen on the show helping Jo design what she wants. I was very surprised to see that Harp Design was a little shop right in the middle of a residential neighborhood, close to downtown. Not at all what I expected. There were a lot of hand made items in there…probably none no longer actually made by Clint himself, but it was really a cute shop and glad we stopped.

I really liked the candlesticks, and I should have bought a pair, but I think I was shopped out at that point!!
We headed back to the cozy rental and since the SpaceX launch was scheduled to take off the next day we hung around the rental so we could watch that live. This was the one that took off, went up, did its belly flop and seemed to come back to its landing pretty good…maybe a little slanted. Then about 7 minutes after the landing it exploded!! More about that with our trip to Boca Chica!!
