So photos have still not downloaded to our Google pictures, but as creative as I am 🙂 I had a work around! LOL
As I indicated in the last post, it was raining like crazy in Nashville!! There had even been a tornado watch area close to where we were but that expired before it got to our area. As I said because we wanted to make sure we knew where GOO was, how to get there, where to park, we got there early and took in a movie. When we were getting ready to leave the movie theatre and walk over to the GOO, it was pouring. For some reason I did not pack umbrellas or rain jackets, so I told David I was going to walk through the mall and find a place to buy umbrellas. I found some in the Vera Bradley store, usually on the pricey side, but they were 50% off and an additional 30% off, so they were a bargain….”they” because I got one for both of us!! I was so glad we had them….you should have seen the soaking wet people walking in to the GOO. As you walk in you have to go through a metal detector. As I went through they stopped me because I guess there was something metal showing in my purse!! Took out my wallet and metal brush and went through the detector again without any issues. Cannot believe my wallet….although I did have almost a full roll of quarters in there so maybe that set the alarm off! (We asked for change for a 20 at a hotel and all they could give us was a 10 and a roll of quarters!!)
Finally got inside and it was a little surreal being there. I have seen it alot on various TV shows, including Nashville, but it was just great to be there.

It was also fun to watch the behind the scenes action that takes place in between the various performers. The first 3 performers were pretty good, the 1st one my mom would love since she was very old country. Then there was a comedian that was pretty funny and then an intermission until the last 3 acts performed.
First was Scotty McCreery — he was really good, almost like a head liner. We were glad to here that he did this first set and then would come back for another set. At the GOO, each group only performs 3-4 songs, which was different compared to a show that you will hear quite a number more. Scotty won Season 10 of American Idol when he was 16 years old!! He definitely does not look 16 any longer. 🙂

He is a great performer and seemed so excited to be on the GOO stage and be able perform.
Next was Gary LeVox!!! He was definitely the one I was most excited to see would be performing. Gary was the lead singer for Rascal Flatts and anyone that knows me knows I have been a RF fan since the very beginning when Jenny convinced me to go see them back in 1999 when they were the warm up band. The crowd definitely enjoyed them more than the head liner. They didn’t even get to be on the regular stage but played in front of the curtain. That was the first of many RF concerts including seeing them in Las Vegas, Milwaukee, and many MN venues. Gary has gone solo after the breakup of the RF group and does a lot of Christian music, but also still performs that RF hits, which he did with this performance. It was really great to see him up on stage with his unique vocal style that really made RF the band that they were!

Next was the Eli Young band. Honestly, I was disappointed in their performance. They seemed to just “dial in” their songs like they really did not want to be performing at the GOO! They were OK, just not as personable as both Scotty and Gary were!! And that made them somewhat disappointing!!
But this was crazy…a bride and groom spending their wedding night at the GOO! What a HOOT!!

Later that night, while I was checking Facebook….yes, I still use Facebook although my son tells me that Facebook is so out of style…I saw Gary’s FB post that he was going to be at GOO. So I commented that we were there and it was a great show. The next morning, I saw that Gary responded to my comment!!! How exciting!! Then I went to look at the response and this is what I saw…

Oh my gosh, it was a fake Gary LeVox Facebook page!!! LOL I said if I responded to him as he suggested he would probably ask me if he could borrow $5K for his body guards hospital bills since his millions have been mistakenly frozen and would be unfrozen in a couple of days and he would then pay me back!!! (Another Tinder Swindler!!) I should have messaged and played along!! LOL
This morning, we decided to grab breakfast on the road so I used Yelp to try to find a unique place. There are a number of Waffle Houses near by since we are in the south, but we decided to skip that this morning. So I found a place “Johnny V’s” that was very interesting. Kind of like a 60’s dinner…only they use Styrofoam cups, plastic silverware and napkin holders on the table. There were a lot of locals in there, included 2 old guys next to us that proclaimed that Electric Vehicles would be the downfall of America!! The food was good and the atmosphere something to enjoy!

We are in Savannah tonight and will head towards Cape Canaveral tomorrow. We rented a house on the Banana River, but do not check in there until Sunday night, so we can take our time getting to that area. May stop on the way and stay someplace depending on what we find.
Hope y’all (we are in Georgia after all…) are doing good!
