Nashville

“From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee…”

I have always wanted to see the Grand Ole Opry (GOO) when I started to map out our trip to FL going through Nashville seemed like a fantastic option. So that was our plan once we left the Kentucky area. And yes, we could see that we were starting to enter the hills of Tennessee. There were a lot of waterfalls flowing from the top of the hills close to the freeway. Not sure if it was typical runoff or from that last couple days of rains. Even the Tennessee River looked like it had swollen its banks and flowed into the adjourning land.

As we drove, I started to Google the GOO and discovered there was a show scheduled on Tuesday night!! So then I looked for an AirBNB for Monday and Tuesday night and found a cute little house in an interesting neighborhood, that seemed to be under some growing and changing.

The owner bought this house and decided to use AirBNB to help fund the improvements he wants to make to the house. And yes, there are areas that have been updated and others that still had the creeky personality of an older home (built in 1961).

There have already been changes since this picture….I forgot to take a picture since it was raining most of the time we were there! But there were blooming daffodils by the front driveway which was a sure sign of Spring!

We had to decide how we were going to get from the house to the GOO, so decided to leave very early and check out the drive, parking and surroundings of the GOO. It is right next to a shopping mall, with a movie theatre and since we were 3 hours early, we decided to go to an IMAX movie. We had not been to a movie theatre in at least 3 years!! Plus we had to check it out and compare it to the Anderson Family Theatre!

So I will have to finish this blog tonight when we stop because my iPhone pictures have not uploaded from GOO to our Google Photos yet. We did enjoy the performers at the GOO and I was very excited to hear Gary LeVox sign some Rascal Flatts songs.

Sorry not too many pictures here, but will tonight and stories from the GOO, including my being stopped by security because there was something “metal” in my purse!!
