Florida at Last

Well we made it to our rental on the Banana River in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This is my view as I am updating the blog.

We left the Savanah area and decided, since we were already in GA that we would head to Jekyll Island — that is where Jackie and Jermar got married! We wanted to see how it was the same or different. They got married on Driftwood Beach. And we took a family picture – not the best quality – did not have the actual final picture, but this gives a sense of what we were looking for.

We were so surprised to see that now the beach is filled with driftwood!! Not at all like it had been when we were there for the wedding! We thought we found this tree, and David stood by it while I took a picture, but we were not 100% sure. We actually facetimed Jackie so she could see what the beach looks like now.

As best as we could tell this seemed like the tree, from a different angle, where we took the family wedding picture.

From there we heading into Florida and stopped in Daytona Beach so we could charge the Tesla. We were right across from the Daytona Speedway, which was very quiet.

You could certainly start to see that Spring Break has started in Florida. Even when I went to Publix to pick up some groceries, you could see others were buying similar things like paper places, paper towels, milk – the stuff needed for short term stays I would think.

One of the main reasons we came to this area was to hopefully watch a launch from Cape Kennedy tomorrow. As we were driving in, we decided to drive around the Cape area and took a couple of pictures.

Whenever you rent an AirBNB, you do not really know what you are getting until you finally get there and enter the home. You can read the descriptions, look at the pictures and read reviews, but still not sure what you will actually see. The driveway going in to the house caused a little of apprehension!

So first we see this at the end of the driveway!!! And I am thinking what the heck!!

And then the driveway looks like this….again wondering what the heck!!

But then there is a clearing and we see the house!! And the river!!!

Also, the sunsets and dolphins here are amazing!!

Hope you are all doing good!
