Orlando – Part 1

After the stay at Cape Canaveral, at that great AirBNB, we went to another AirBNB near Orlando, actually Davenport. It was bigger than what we needed, but at the time of booking we were not sure if some of the kids were going to make the trip too, so we booked the 8 bedroom house with a pool and hot tub in the back. Jenny, Jen, Emily and Erin were planning to make the drive from MN, but the other kids could not make it. It really did not seem to be too big, especially with 2 teenagers that changed rooms! 🙂

The first night, it was just David and I so we walked through the house checking out the various rooms. There were 2 themed rooms that Emily (Marvel) and Erin (Princess) thought would be perfect for both of them!

But we knew this would be the area we would hang out the most!!

And we all did spend a lot of time there, even when it rained….which I did not realize was quite common in Florida.

The Jens and the girls left Minnesota on Thursday morning about 10 AM and decided to drive straight through arriving at the house on Friday morning….exhausted, but excited to be there.

After some quick naps by all four, we heading outside to enjoy the pool area that afternoon. The girls really enjoyed their time in there, so did Max, and so did the little creature that Emily captured and held.

This house is located in a community – Champions Gate, which included an area with a larger pool, lazy river, splash pad and outdoor pubs. We did spend some time on Saturday there!

And back in Minnesota, this is what the boys were up to!! 🙂

Sunday the girls and I decided to go to Universal Studios. It was not as crowded as I thought it would be, but there were plenty of people there. Seems like more people were coming in as we were leaving at the end of the day. We ended up walking 5.5 miles during that visit!

We went to the Bourne experience that we all thought was fantastic!!! It was a combination of live action, light effects and stunts!! It was not like the other “rides” at Universal that include a list of at least 10 bullet points on the danger of the ride. It was really well worth it!

We also went to Harry Potter Land where the girls decided to try some Butter Beer, which really tasted that overly sweet butterscotch liquid!! There were some families there that REALLY get in to the Harry Potter characters!

One of the last things we did is I asked the girls if they would sit and have caricatures done — they both agreed, which was great and I was happy with the result!

And what were the boys up to?
