Well I think I will survive…ask me yesterday and it may have not been the same answer. The surgery went well and I would say that incision has to be at least 12 inches long. One of Dr. Houdek’s team came in this morning, the weekend doctor as he said, and looked at it and said it was looking good. Dr. Houdek actually just stopped by also and said the surgery went great and so far pathology has said everything looked negative around the margains. Most pathology will be done over the next few days, but he feels very positive. He is going to send me pictures and provide some narrative of what they did…it was my request.
Let’s go back a couple of days of what I can remember. Waiting for surgery was crazy…and you know once you are here you just want to get it done. We had checkin here at 7:30 and they wheeled me to the operating room at noon. It is funny how they start to put you under and you think this is going to take forever. Next thing I knew I was in recovery and I was in PAIN!!! Dr. Houdek came in and said everything went great, although I really cannot remember much from there. Think I got to my room about 4-5. David and Jenny were here waiting when I came in and we chatted for a little. They said I looked pretty pale. Jen and Jason came later and I think they finally knew I had a hard time staying awake so they left. I knew this would be painful, because the radiation oncologist warmed me…and her team…but not at this level. I think the worst on Thursday was at least a 7.
I am going to publish this part now because it is being flakey and I don’t want to lose it!
