Still no results from the biopsy! :-(. Tomorrow will be one week since the biopsy was done. I have had a few biopsies and am very surprised that results are not back yet. I would have even expected that something would have been back that day or the next day (Friday) but with the weekend, I really thought Monday would be the day. At Mayo, the results were back that same day….but again that is Mayo. When I had the lymph node removed when diagnosed with lymphoma about 15 years ago, the day after the surgery, the surgeon called me with the results. So I think my impatience is understanding.
I decided to call Shelby (Dr. Chen’s nurse) to see if they have any further updates. Just got off the phone with her and she said they don’t know anything more…and added “we are not hiding anything from you”….LOL…I really did not think they were hiding anything but more that they had some other details like they are behind on testing, or even that they have sent the samples out for more analysis. Shelby did say that with my history, she would not be surprised if they have sent the samples out for additional testing, or confirmation of what they are seeing. When my sample was tested from the lymph node, 2 pathologists did an assessment and had different opinions on the subtype. Eventually the samples were sent to Mayo for confirmation of the subtype. Shelby said she feels bad that I have to wait and understands that waiting is difficult. I think I have stated this before…waiting is painful….any patient will tell you that. Even if you are in a “watchful waiting” situation, it is always in the back of your mind. You know even if they updated Chen to say that they were sending it out, would be a helpful bit of information.
I will wait patiently….LOL…anyone that knows me that patience is not one of my strongest virtues!! :-). I did find some cool YouTube videos of waves which are really fun to watch and listen to. Friday Shelby will check again so I just have to let it go and know that she will keep tabs on what is going on and will let me know. Friday is also my first physical therapy appointment so I can look forward to that and starting the journey for healing and hopefully walking….slowing I know, but baby steps.
Cloudy here….I had thought about sitting outside and reading with the temps being in the 50’s but without the sun it really did not seem appealing. Gray is the new blue! :-). I got my newest Annie kit so will work on squares 13-15….great to help occupy my mind!!!
Stay positive and if you have any extra patience send it in my direction. :-)
