This morning while I was eating my breakfast bar and drinking my yummy coffee, in the warming cup we got from Jackie for Christmas, I was thinking about metaphors and pictured Larry as a Mosquito.
Let me set up the scenario…it is a nice Spring/Summer evening, the windows are open letting in the fresh air but unbeknownst to you someone left the door open a little too long and a few mosquitoes found a new home to buzz around in. You really didn’t see them when you were wide awake watching your favorite TV show relaxing in the living room. But get all comfy in your bed planning for a great night sleep, lights off, sounds of the ocean playing lightly on your sound machine and then you hear it…..buzzzzzzzz….zipping around your head! You can’t see it, even if you grab your phone and turn the light on, you will never see it. You wave your hands around trying to clear away that buzz you cannot see and all is quiet again. Hmmmm….you think I must have slapped it with one of my waving arms. So back into the world of your comfort zone…the ocean sounds lulling you into sleepy time…and then you hear it AGAIN….buzzzzzzz….it is by your ear….no it is by your nose….no it is by your other ear….this is not going to be a good night sleep after all. You might as well put sounds of the outdoors on your sound machine because you are really in a sleeping bag, in the wild while Larry and his other mosquito friends play with you with their constant buzzing all around your head!
See what I mean?? That is Larry right now…he is buzzing in my head constantly. So I pick up my phone and look…no email! The best case scenario of all of this is the NIH comes back and says he all is clear, we just wanted to make sure. And then I can tell them…well that is Larry for you, he wants to be the center of attention until the very last minute.
So that is what my morning thoughts were like this morning!! Hopefully you don’t have any buzzing in your head and it is a sunny day for you. Hey, they are talked 2-4 inches of snow possible in the next few days….LOL….and we all thought winter was over here. I think winter and Larry are friends!!! They both want us to think they are done with us and then they pop up again!! 🙂
