Quite the rainy, thundery, lightning day here. At least it is not severe like it was Saturday night where the sirens went off 3 times here in Big Lake. We debated going to the tornado shelters that are provided here, but just decided to stay at the house. Guess the shelter was packed with people!
We are going back and forth between Blaine and Big Lake. When I have PT, we want to be in Blaine because the drive to Maple Grove from Big Lake is horrible right now with the Monticello/Mississippi bridge under construction. Sometimes it can be quick to get over and then one time it took 45 minutes to go 1 mile!! So just don’t want to take that chance with PT since they are in the afternoons which seem to be worse. Tomorrow we will also be in Blaine to go to the neighborhood National Night Out.
PT is going ok. I know I should do more…and I try, but I am still in the walker…did not graduate to the cane yet. PT wants me to be able to extend my leg fully and am not quite there. It is strange because what hurts the most, or is most bothersome is the knee. It is like there is a tight band around it…almost numbing. Can be stiff in the mornings so I usually try to do knee type extensions before I actually get up. I will probably be able to predict the weather with that knee as time goes on. At least my dad always said his knee told him if the weather was going to change. 🙂
We are still trying to get some of the yard work done in Big Lake that we usually have done within the first month of being here. Yesterday Darcee came out and helped SO much!! I am so disappointed in that I hired someone to plant flowers for me since I couldn’t early on. I did pay her for the flowers…over $300, but she was supposed to finish a section by the garage and when we came here there were the flowers still sitting in the nursery containers and shriveled up!! Just so disappointing…seems like you can’t count on anyone to do the job they have committed to. Usually our front yard looks so nice and this year it is just not as nice. Oh well…next year!!!
Since Mayo’s MRI was good, I anxiously await the PET scan in a couple of weeks to make sure all is good there too. It is just like you have this nagging little thing whispering to you wondering what is going on in the inside! 🙂 Not as anxious as a few months back, but just there.
