So we have had the chance to watch those 2 little boys twice in the last couple of weeks. A week ago, we were at Jaxen’s baseball game and Jackie felt bad it was last minute but she asked if we wanted the boys for overnight. They had been invited to a surprise birthday party for Jordan (head coach of the Park Center Football team and long time friend of Jermar’s) near our house in Blaine. We said we would love to have the boys, but since we have been staying mostly in Big Lake, food was pretty scarce at our Blaine house. But we stopped and got stuff for supper and breakfast on Sunday morning…oh and a couple of little snacks and we were well set for their visit.
You know even though we see those boys on a regular basis, they really are at the age where they are changing so much. They really enjoy being brothers, where for a while I was afraid they were going to at least break a bone on each other they would fight over the littlest things. But now they seem to like each other and even watch out for each other.
Jaxen’s game was great! He had a couple of hits and 2 RBI’s and they won in the last inning so it was a real nail biter at the end!

He is definitely a little peanut compared to the others on his team, and he can run like the wind!!
We had fun with them at our house and they looked so peaceful once they finally fell asleep…like little angels with hidden devil horns. Oh and they enjoyed cupcakes for dessert after supper.

They love to sit on the kitchen island while we are making breakfast. It wasn’t one of Bumpa’s famous breakfast as we had Eggos and microwave bacon.

And to prove how fast Jaxen can be…his mom timed him running around our house and he clocked in at 17 seconds, where Jaylen was 30 seconds!
Last week they both enjoyed their last day of school: Jaxen kindergarten and Jaylen pre-K.

Last minute, Jackie was invited to a fancy, 14 course dinner, with a couple of the Kemps higher ups. So she asked if we could watch the boys. This time we went to their house because they were finally getting the AC/furnace installed and did not know if their installers would be done by the time they had to leave. Plus we needed to head back to Big Lake since we had a Board Meeting early Saturday morning back up there. We gave the boys their choice of what they wanted for supper…McDonalds, Jetts Pizza or something else delivered. They decided on McDonalds along with a strawberry/banana smoothie! They were in their TV chairs in the living room and David and I sat in the bar area in the kitchen. All of sudden Jaxen walked in with tear streaming down his face. I asked him What is wrong? He said there is ketchup on my burger. Oh my goodness I thought it was something so serious. LOL So I told him I would get it off…and scraped it off with a knife and he was so happy!! He ate the whole thing and half of Jaylen’s (After I scraped off the ketchup)!! It was a fun night…full of lots of laughs, although Jaxen really wanted to go to Park Tavern so he could bowl. Not something we could really do, without car seats, and probably not the best at bowling but Jackie told him they would go after baseball on Saturday.

And speaking of baseball, I told Jaxen I was sad that I could not be at his game since we had the Board Meeting. I told him will you get a hit for me? He said Grandma, I always get hits!! Well I guess he jinxed himself…he struck out 3 times and they lost the game. Such a bummer. And it was cold at that game!! Fall Ball, I said!!

And this week, Emily and Erin are driving to Florida. Their dad rented a house for a month in Florida so they are going to stay for a week. This is a picture of Emily, Erin and Greg (their step-brother) on the drive to FL. They made the trip non-stop!! (Oh to be young again!!) (Their first time experiencing Buc-ee’s)

Because the boys were out of school all last week, as the school transitions over from regular school to summer kids place, Darcee and Caley had them stay a night with them and enjoy the swimming pool at their apartment!

Guess it was dark at C&D’s cause both of those pictures are dark. One is walking back from the pool…the other the three of them just hanging out.
Enough for today!! Hope Father’s Day was good for all!
