After a couple of weeks of 90’s, close to 100’s,

today is a glorious day in northern AZ today. The windows are wide open to let in some good fresh air. High is supposed to be 79, but very windy, which increases the fire danger in this area, but makes for a great day to be outside.
Last Friday, Petsmart finally opened their grooming salons so Max could get a cut!!! He desperately needed it. They came outside the store to get him and brought him back out when done. (Before and After) He really did not want to sit still for pictures!!
At least now he can see instead of trying to look through all that hair!!
While waiting for him to get done, I grabbed a quick breakfast sandwich from the blue McDonalds (I was in Sedona). Up on the roof I noticed these birds — do you also notice the ceramic owl? When we lived in Louisiana, we had 2 ceramic owls on our front porch to keep the birds away and thus not get bird poop all over your porch. I don’t think this owl is doing its job!!

Heard that some of the MN driver license locations opened up this morning! But the lines are crazy long with people waiting in line over 2 hours. Last August our granddaughter, Emily turned 16, but her dad wanted her to have another winter of driving experience so the plan was to make an appointment for the test sometime in the Spring. After long waits, she finally got the appointment and was prepared to finally be a regular 16 year old and get her license….then COVID hit and all tests were cancelled. Hopefully those that got their appointment cancelled are supposed to get priority, so hopefully she will be able to get her license before she graduates college….or maybe even high school!! Good luck with that Emily!!!
This is Emily and Erin in their hammocks up at the lake this past weekend.
Now for the “Kids Say the Darnedest Things” story….first take a look that this cute little face….
Remember this cute, innocent face as I tell you this story. Not far from Jackie and Jermar’s house is Nelson’s Meat Market so one of the nice days last week they decided to walk there and pick up some meat for the grill. Once in the market there were a lot of cool things to touch and look at that were right at a toddler’s reach!! One thing that really caught Jaxen’s eye was a box of candy bars, so while admiring the pretty colors in that box he knocked the whole thing over on the floor. But being the sharing type of toddler that he is, he picked one up and tried to follow one of the other customers out the door trying to give the candy bar to him. Jackie quickly scooped Jaxen up, told him that he needed to stay with them and not follow strangers out the door. As Jackie was holding him in her arms, he was doing the lean back, arms flinging around that makes it almost impossible to hold him and started to yell “Help!!”….and not just once….and not just the word, but more like “HHHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!” again and again. As you can imagine, and as most parents will have experienced this some time in their lives, Jackie was horrified!!! Jermar rescued her, and took Jaxen outside while he still was pleading “HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!”. When they told us this story on a Zoom call, we all laughed…..and Jermar said you can all laugh, but at the moment we were horrified!!! (That made us all laugh even more!!!))
Well, we are getting closer to heading up to MN. We are thinking we will either leave June 1st or get there around June 1st. The Carefree Board is meeting tomorrow night to decide when and if they will open the pool and other buildings in the campgrounds. It will be good to hear that decision. I am certainly ready for more open windows and cooler weather…although I have heard the gnats are horrible this year!!!
Stay safe and healthy!
