Finally!!! And more of the FL trip!

So frustrating!!! Have been paying the yearly fee for this blog site, but have been horrible issues trying to get logged in! Finally it is working without having to use any kledgy steps or just plain getting frustrated with it. We will see how long this lasts…hopefully longer than shorter!

So I want to continue on with documenting the FL trip…helps me to remember where we went, what we saw and any crazy interactions that occurred along the way.

Our next stop was Jacksonville. We only went there because we had tickets to see Nate Bargatze. If you have never seen him watch some of his comedy acts on YouTube. He is a “clean” comedian, but more shares jokes of a regular person. This was our first time seeing him in person, but would definately go again.

We stayed at a hotel right on the river…St. John’s River I believe. There were water taxis that would take you across the river to the venue, but after looing at the map decided we would just drive over. This was the view from the hotel room balcony.

This is the water taxi that you can take to cross the river. I suppose that is really helpful if that bridge goes up a number of times throughout the day.

It would have been fun to check out, but the walk on the other side of the river to the venue was a little longer than what I thought I could do.

This was the queue waiting outside the venue. I googled VyStar because I was curious about the name sake and it is a credit union. Also showing the inside of the venue.

Nate had 3 warm up comedians and they were just okish….there was also an emcee and he was pretty good. In fact he is the emcee on Nate’s new gameshow: Greatest Average American. Pictures were not allowed while Nate was on stage, and the ushers were watching people very carefully. I did sneak a picture as he was leaving the stage just to prove we saw him in person. LOL

Hotel night view! 🙂

I told Jackie…hey someone is steeling the Kemps Cow graphic!!

Turns out this is T.G. Lee which is a well known brand in Florida similar to the Kemps brand in the Midwest. Both are owned by the Dairy Farmers of America, which is the parent company based in Dallas. Jackie flies to Dallas almost once a month since she has team members based in the Dallas office.

The next few days, before we went to the rental in the Orlando area, we did not have a specific place to stay. We looked at various AirBNB options but decided we wanted to go back to the place in Port St. John. For some reason the nightly price was higher than we paid a couple weeks before so I texted the owner just to ask about the price. She had actually inflated the price because she was hoping to come from Michigan to stay there those days and didn’t want anyone to book the place. But those trip plans fell through so she went on to AirBNB and discounted to price significantly so we could book. It was really a good choice. We got to see a couple of launches but our favorite was the one at sunrise…and these pictures show the great view we got to see. This is called a “space Jellyfish” or “twilight phenomenon” and is caused by “the exhaust gases and vapor from the rocket freeze and expand in the upper atmosphere, creating a distinct, glowing cloud that can be seen hundreds of miles away.” (according to Google). I had only heard that this could occur, but seeing it in person was amazing!!

We shared this pictures with the family and Jason said those are AI generated!! And believe me they were not….just so amazing. When I read that we may see this jellyfish effect, I did not realize in person how amazing it would be!! So glad we went back to this AirBNB so we could take in this spectacular view!!

Before we ventured to the Orlando rental we did some stuff around Cocoa Beach. We also enjoy going to Port Canaveral to have lunch so we can catch some of the cruise ships that port there. We not only got to see the cruise ships, but also a couple of the SpaceX boosters that we caught on drone ships and sent back here to go on to Cape Canaveral. It was a gorgeous day watching the goings on on the water! 🙂

Lots of activity that day!!

Next will be our adventure at the Disney themed rental near Orlando. Jackie, Jermar, Jaxen and Jaylen joined us for a few days and they all had a great time.

Be sunny on a cloudy day!
